Most Genetics textbooks lack relevant information for agriculture and are expensive for students. OER allow me to customize my course, by combining the textbook, lectures, and learning activities.
What We Do
The Open & Affordable Education Committee is a cross-campus committee whose members are involved in the development, promotion, and use of open and affordable course materials at Iowa State University. We promote the use of open educational resources (OER) alongside other free and low-cost instructional materials like library-licensed content, course packets, and low-cost print and e-books. While this website emphasizes our support for OER, there are a wide variety of affordable course material options available!
