Case Study
Michael incorporated open educational resources in Introduction to Educational Statistics (RESEV 552) to encourage his students to develop computational thinking skills through the use of online interactive labs. In addition to adopting an open textbook, OpenIntro Statistics, Michael also integrated DataCamp tutorials into his course to allow students to get more hands-on experience working with data. Throughout the course, students developed an original data analysis project using the open analytical tool RStudio.
Michael's students have continued to pursue their analytical projects as conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. An R Library containing the course materials is now available through GitHub for other instructors.
