Case Study

Thea is a PhD student in Iowa State University's Interdepartmental Genetics and Genomics program. She is interested in the molecular basis of phenotypic plasticity in turtles, including its regulation, origin, and evolution. Thea received a Miller Open Education Mini-Grant in 2022 alongside Dr. Tracy Heath to develop a new course to support undergraduate students in developing research competencies necessary for their future academic and professional careers. The syllabus and course materials associated with this course were published and shared as an open access handbook through the ISU Digital Press in January 2024.
