This project aimed to create a new, open lab manual that would fulfill the same needs as the previous manual used in BIOL 212L. The written content was provided by the BIOL 212L teaching staff, with a mic of figures and illustrations including original images created by the teaching staff, openly licensed images, and newly produced images from a graphic artist or medical illustrator. A digital version of the OER manual will be provided to students for free and an excerpt of printed material will be required through printing services so students will have a physical lab manual for reference while completing their lab during class each week. The printed excerpt will be kept to under $10 per student. Overall, this should save BIOL 212L students $22,000-24,000 a year.
More information will be provided here when the final assessment for this grant is completed.
