An Open Textbook for Quantitative Problem Solving in Natural Resources

Contributors

Pete Moore's Miller Mini-Grant revolved around the creation of an open textbook for his course, NREM 240: Quantitative Problem Solving in Natural Resources. This open textbook has been in regular use in his course since 2018, and has also been adopted by instructors at Drake University and elsewhere across the United States.

Note from the PI's final report:

"With the new text, I believe that students will feel like they have more resources, and of course they are grateful that there is essentially no cost. I did, however, provide a link for students who wished to have a copy of the text printed by ISU printing for a small cost (less than $7). One thing that surprised me was that many students opted to get the printed version."
